A case of production management with TrakSYS™ at AkzoNobel
AkzoNobel, headquartered in Amsterdam, is one of the world’s leading decorative paint companies. Backed by centuries of color expertise and an extensive global network, they supply an extensive variety of innovative products for every situation and surface. From interior and exterior paints, lacquers, and varnishes, to products for surface preparation, their globally recognized brands are renowned for their quality and performance.
In Brazil, AkzoNobel has diversified chemical operations with eleven strategically located factories. The largest plant in the Mauá municipality is dedicated to the production of paint and resin in three different sites. As product and production demand continued to increase, the team at AkzoNobel Mauá needed to find a way to optimize their operation. Working alongside Parsec Certifed Partner, HSI, the team was able to implement a TrakSYS rollout that would not only aid in production management, but would also take into account their existing infrastructure.

Solution:
For AkzoNobel it was important that TrakSYS help maximize the effectiveness of their existing assets. With its ability to easily integrate with existing systems, a TrakSYS solution compatible with the installed SAP ERP system was designed. With this connection established, AkzoNobel would be able to (amongst other things) download SAP orders, production sequences, required materials, work instructions, scheduling and production orders, and other pertinent reports.
